This next month’s film (showing on Friday 18th March, at 7.30 pm in the Commemoration Hall) is “Bend It Like Beckham” (certificate 12). A comedy about bending the rules to reach your goal, this film explores the world of women’s football, from kick-abouts in the park to freekicks in the Final. Set in Hounslow, West London and Hamburg, the film follows two 18 year olds with their hearts set on a future in professional soccer. One of the stars is Parminder Nagra, who you may recognise as Dr. Neela from the TV series “ER”.
As before, the £5 charge (£4 for pensioners & students, £2.50 for children) covers both the film and your supper. The refreshments this time will have an Indian theme.
