The Dukesfield project has now appointed a contractor to manage and do most of the work during the planing stage of the project.
Following the Heritage Lottery Fund grant award in June, the Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers project steering group has now appointed the North Pennines AONB Staff Unit team to lead the planning work needed to submit our next stage application to the Heritage Lottery Fund in December. They have the experience of the HLF processes and the skills needed to carry out the work on the various permissions, estimates and planning needed to create a strong bid. As plans are developed later in the summer, consultation events will take place to give everyone a chance to give their reactions and ideas.
