For anyone who has ever wondered what the old arches are beside the Devil’s Water below Dukesfield, there will be a free talk about them on Thursday 19th January, at 7.30pm in Whitley Chapel Parish Hall. Given by Greg Finch, who lives in the Shire, this talk will cover the site’s history and give a summary of exciting plans for a project to conserve them as a heritage site over the next few years. It should last for about an hour and admission is free.
The Arches were for many years in Slaley Parish and Hexhamshire Parish Council, who are hosting the meeting, are keen to include anyone with a genuine interest.
