The Slaley, Healey & Minsteracres History Club is launched

  • Do you know when a helicopter and an RAF fighter had a near miss over Slaley Hall Golf Course?
  • In June 1997, who wrote the first Slaley & Healey notes column for the Hexham Courant?
  • When was a body found in Healey woods?
  • What was sold for £1m in May 1985 and by September 1991 had debts of over £20m?

The answer to these questions and much more can be discovered at the launch of the Slaley, Healey & Minsteracres History Club on Monday January 23rd in Slaley Commemoration Hall, from 7.30 to 9 p.m. Admission is £1 for adults or 50p for anyone in full-time education.

This initial meeting entitled “The good, the bad and the not-so-pretty” is an opportunity to view a Scrapbook of Slaley & Healey births, deaths and marriages, properties for sale, looking back extracts, articles and news from June 1985 to January 2012.
