Slaley Community Shop
Residents of Slaley and the surrounding area have long been proud of their village shop and when the opportunity came along to purchase it in 2017 the community stepped in and bought it.
Slaley Community Shop is now run purely by volunteers and offers a warm and friendly welcome to locals and visitors alike. It stocks a wide range of essential products, including:
·Newspapers & magazines, with deliveries to Slaley, Juniper & Whitley Chapel
· Household & larder essentials
· Cards, wrapping paper & stationery
· A carefully curated range of wine & beer It also boasts a tempting selection of locally sourced items, including:
· Dairy products & eggs from Marley Cote Walls Farm
· Cheese & yogurt from Slack House Organic Farm
· Cakes baked weekly by our very own Bake@theShop team
· Meat from Robson and Sons and pies from Ridley’s Fish and Game
· Jams & chutneys from Northumbrian Pantry
· Honey from Rowley, Hexhamshire
· A selection of local Allendale beer
· Ice cream from Tyne Valley Ices
· Bird food from Poltross Enterprises
Other activities include a book swop, local recycling, community events and support for local charities.
