Slaley Commemoration Hall Planning Application

An application has been submitted to the planning department to alter the existing Slaley Commemoration Hall and also to construct an extension. The brief for this design was provided by the Trustees of the hall. The Trustees had carried out a survey of villagers and users to determine peoples aspirations for the hall. The survey revealed several issues: The toilets were considered to be in poor condition. This is no surprise to anyone who uses the hall: they fall well short of even the lowest e...

Farewell to Mrs Hay!

To speed things up till the card arrives (custom made by someone) we have put a batch of stickers which can be filled in to be stuck in the card, and an envelope for donations in the shop, as there are others in the village who probably want to wish her well....

An appeal!

Jean Elphick & Catherine Lincoln, who have been village correspondents for many years, but are now retiring have this to say: "We two correspondents, who gather news about Slaley and write them up (alternately) each week, are now looking for one or two people to replace us. This is our decision, as we have both been doing them for seventeen years (Jean) and eleven years (Catherine) respectively! "We feel that it is time for new faces to take over, so please give us a break and yourselves a chang...
